We are pleased that you have taken an interest in our laboratory group and website. Protecting your data is important to us. Please note that you can use our webpage without providing any personal information such as your name, address, email address, or telephone number. If the processing of listed personal data is nevertheless necessary, we will actively obtain consent from the data subject. Processing of personal data shall always be in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

USE OF COOKIES AND STATISTICAL EVALUATION

Our website uses cookies, which are text files that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. This WordPress.com-hosted website specifically uses Jetpack Stats, an inbuilt web analytics plugin provided by Automattic Inc., 60 29th Street #343, San Francisco, CA 94110-4929, USA, which is a company that owns and runs WordPress.com. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website, including your IP address (which will be anonymized before storage), will be stored on a server located in the USA.

Data used: IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com username (if logged in), user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language, country code

Activity Tracked: Post and page views, video plays (if videos are hosted by WordPress.com), outbound link clicks, referring URLs and search engine terms, and country.

Data Visibility and Retention: Note that we (the site owner) do not have access to any of the above information via the Jetpack Stats feature. For example, we can see that a specific post has a specific number of views, but we cannot see which specific users/accounts viewed that post. Stats logs – containing visitor IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available) – are retained by Automattic for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering the Jetpack Stats feature.
